Zug offers stability

The attractiveness of Canton Zug is clearly demonstrated by the fact that the resident population has almost doubled over the past 40 years.

Currently, the canton is home to some 110,000 people from more than 120 nations. The population is expected to increase to 125,000 by the year 2020.

People

The people of Zug demonstrated their pioneering spirit of openness as early as the beginning of the 19th century, when a large number of foreign companies settled in the canton. This open-minded attitude - together with Zug's business-friendly mentality - is a major reason why so many foreign companies decide to set up business here.

Infrastructure

Companies deciding to set up business in Zug are assured a well-developed infrastructure in the banking and finance sector, as well as asset management, and legal and tax advisory services. The short, safe travelling distances to places of employment, schools, shops, restaurants and leisure attractions also make a major contribution to the quality of life throughout the canton.

Schools / Further education

Switzerland can claim one of the best education systems worldwide. The Canton of Zug offers a comprehensive range of free schooling, as well as a number of acclaimed international schools. Vocational training and career-oriented further education (in German) also meet the highest standards and undergo constant development.

Health services

Zug's health system comprises not only top quality hospitals and clinics, but also offers a wide choice of multilingual doctors and dentists (including specialists).

Political

In common with the rest of Switzerland, Zug enjoys great political stability. Zug's business-friendly tax laws, which have been introduced over 100 years ago, represent an excellent example of the canton's political stability.

Nature / Leisure time

Zug embraces a wealth of natural beauty in the heart of Central Switzerland, with many opportunities for relaxation and leisure activities. Scenic splendors range from the River Reuss plateau and attractive Aegeri Valley to two lovely lakes and majestic mountain landscape.

For sports enthusiasts, golf, sailing, diving, cycling, inline skating, paragliding, tennis, mountain biking, hiking, ice skating, downhill and cross-country skiing are just a few of the many attractions offered.

Culture

Zug offers a vast and varied program of cultural attractions. From large spectacles to more intimate events, the program ranges from theatre and art to music and museums. The canton is also rich in colorful customs and time-honored traditions. In addition, two of Switzerland's most attractive cultural cities Zurich and Lucerne are only half an hour away and easily accessible by road or rail.
