Thanks to careful planning, combined with a high degree of flexibility, Zug's construction industry has been able to keep pace with the strong growth in companies setting up business in the canton.

The forward-looking policy of continual investment in business premises and property - in all price categories - has paid off.

Commercial premises
The Economic Promotion Office's regularly updated List of Vacant Real Estate details available office, business, production, storage and other commercial premises throughout the canton. The acquisition of real estate and land - whether of one's own or third party use - does not require authorization.

For providers of commercial property:

- Form for registering new property
- Form for modifying or deregistering existing property

To meet the high demand for residential property, new estates are currently under construction and some business premises are being converted into residential zones. Vacant residential properties are advertised in the Amtsblatt des Kantons Zug. The Zug Cantonal Bank is also able to assist property-seekers: Newhome.

Foreign nationals wishing to acquire houses or apartments for their own residential use do not require a special permit. In addition, they do not have to sell the property on leaving Switzerland.
